Top 5 Tips for Spring Cleaning:
-
Import the course evaluation data for the term.
- Import required data at least 7-10 days prior to the evaluation launch.
- Double check that the data has been imported correctly by spot check course sections to ensure that the enrollments are correct.
- Update any new faculty and admin permissions for users to ensure access to reports after collection.
-
Review your course evaluation questions to ensure they are correct.
- Edit any Custom Questions, logic or add scales to meet the specific output needs.
- Turn off any questions that are not currently needed (based on semester or course rotation).
-
- Don't forget about the Mailing Center.
-
Review the Mailing Template for both student and instructors.
- Create your mailing campaigns and ensure the dates are correct.
- Communicate with your faculty about any start and end dates.
- Conveying the importance of collecting end of the semester evaluations to guide course improvements can increase the response rate. Many campuses provide incentives to faculty or students to encourage feedback.
- If you are using the IDEA Learning Objectives ensure that they have been identified by the course instructor prior to survey launch.
-
Manage expectations with reporting.
- Provide all faculty with a refresher and any resources or information ahead of the beginning of the collection period. Include any videos and links to more information to enable faculty to help themselves to resources.
- Schedule a check in or workshop for any new faculty to review what to expect when processing the reports after collection.
