When engaging faculty and staff in professional development opportunities, methods used to teach adult learners (andragogy) are often overlooked. Understandably, facilitators tend to fall back on how they were taught or utilize approaches by which they involve student learners. Although these methods of instruction may meet the needs of an undergraduate class in some situations, student and adult learners are distinct populations and should be engaged accordingly. This webinar will focus on Malcolm Knowles’ Adult Learning Theory and his four principles of andragogy, along with tips on how you can better engage faculty and staff during your next on-campus learning opportunity.
