Updates to the Summary Report and Removal of PDFs in Mailings

In order to ensure we were including institution feedback for this update to the site we released all of the features below to a small group of Course Evaluations campuses in the beginning of the year. This allowed us to hear their feedback and make minor adjustments in order for the full release to be as seamless as possible. If you would like to be included in future pilot groups please let your Campus Labs consultant know.

In addition to enhancements to security and accessibility, you can now enjoy improvements to the Summary Report. Read on for complete details.

 

Availability
Summary reports will now be available as soon as the administrator has released reports for any of the instructor’s course sections. In the past, all course sections needed to have their reports released before an instructor's summary report would be available. Moving forward, as course sections have their reports released the data for that course section will be added to the summary report.

Status
Since a summary report will now be available much earlier in the process, a status column has been added to the report. There are four possible report statuses for a course section:

  • Released
  • Not Released
  • Not Released (report release date)
  • Threshold Not Met

 

Hyperlinks
When Viewing a summary report, course selections are now hyperlinked allowing users to view the course report in a new tab.

 

Navigation Bar
There is now a navigation bar within the Faculty Experience. This will allow instructors to easily navigate to different tools within the site. With this change, The Course Evaluation button has also been moved into this navigation bar.

Please note that "Response Sessions" and "Rubrics" will only show in this navigation bar for institutions who also have our Baseline product.

 

Print
Instructors no longer need to be dependent on the Campus Administrators to send them their summary reports. By logging in and clicking on the “Print” button within the summary report, instructors can print an up-to-date report whenever they would like.

 

What This Means for the Full Site Administrator

Beginning February 20th, PDFs will no longer be attached to Instructor Report Mailings. Previously, quantitative and qualitative PDFs that were sent via the report mailing were static. The improved availability of the summary report brings with it some positive changes. If you're the full site administrator, you'll now be able to provide real-time access to instructors via a direct link to their summary report.

When scheduling a report mailing to be sent to instructors, this mailing will no longer include attached PDFs. Instead, as the full site administrator, you can now include a placeholder in the mailing that will populate a direct link to the instructor's summary report after logging in.

Note: With these changes, please remember to update any previously created mailing templates that refer to "attached PDFs".
